I've always been involved in some type of art...from photography to fiber arts. I found lampworking while searching for glass beads to finish a felted bag I had just finished knitting. After much searching, I found some on eBay. When they arrived, I was so disappointed. The glass was very dull, and the bead holes hadn't even been cleaned. I tried to clean them and they all broke in half. Come to find out, they were mass produced in China. I found a class and decided to learn to make my own lampwork beads. I haven't picked up my knitting since! Even though I have my "day job" teaching sixth grade, I spend several hours a day at the torch. I can't wait to get home each day and get to work!! My family says that I'm obsessed! Each bead is handmade by Teri Moore using Moretti/Effetre glass from Italy, Lauscha glass from Germany, and Vetrofond glass. All beads are annealed in a digital temperature controlled kiln for strength and durability.
